Ocean El Faro El Beso, Punta Cana

Family of 11 people ranging from ages 8-68. Property is huge so if mobility issues, perhaps not the best as lots of walking. Had many young people with us so no issues. Elevators worked well and were much appreciated by the 61 and 68 year old LOL Hotel Property has a lot of greenery and fountains so very beautiful! Service: Inconsistent; some very good and others not so much Rooms: Nice large rooms with everything you need. Maids did a good job and fridge was always replenished. Had minor issue with patio door as well as washroom which was fixed within 5 minutes. Buffet: Always had a lot of choices; impossible not to find something you like to eat. Fresh salads, vegetables, fresh fruit, great pizza (our favourite), meats, fish, etc. A la Carte: Route 66 = not so good, star was the strawberry milkshake, better burgers at the Burger bar Sakura = good, the usual Japanese so entertaining Dolce Vita (Italian) = good Steakhouse = nightmare; not sure if it was the night we went but worst a la carte I've ever been to and we've done about 30 of them Blue Moon = adults only, One word FANTASTIC probably best a la carte we've ever been to. My husband loved the smoked salmon, however everyone (8 of us) enjoyed all entrees and meals. Margarita = Decent for Mexican Food Burger Bar = great burgers and my gang really enjoyed the chili dogs. Pool = lots of shade with plenty of room for all. Kids swimming and my big kids tossing the football. Was impressed with the pagodas surrounding the pool as well as the umbrellas all spread out around all pool areas. Daisy Club = nice vibe for kids with the kids water slides located in front. Would say it's good for children up to 8 or 10 years old. Lazy River = Fantastic. Everyone loved it. The river emptied into a bar where you could go through to get a drink. Bring your own tubes as not too many provided by hotel. It will be worth bringing your own. Lots of greenery surrounding the lazy river. Beach Regretfully very rocky. It is the Atlantic so a bit rough. Good though if you enjoy long walks on the beach. Saving grace was the lagoon where the sand was white and water nice with gentle waves. Lighthouse = Have to make it up as great for pictures (via an elevator). What great views for pictures! There is no restaurant on the beach for regular guests (NOT premium) which is too bad. Apparently the Villa Marina is for us regular folks but it was not open the week we went from October 11-18. Activities: My sons enjoyed the gym. Bowling was also good (bring socks). Tennis courts in good shape (bring your own equipment), same goes for basketball (bring your own). Some of the kids loved the virtual reality games. Quite expensive at $10. per game, however the $100. for the week unlimited was a good bargain for the 4 people. MIKE's Coffee = WOW! My favorite place as the whole family enjoyed for lattes, capuccino's, hot chocolates, smoothies, etc. They also had mini-pastries and little sandwiches at lunch. Super comfortable area where we could play family games. The Ocean green policy is great where there was cold water jugs to refill our thermal cups. A bit far from the airport, about 40 minutes. Great for a big family looking for lots of activities! There really was something for evreyone!

We stayed in the adults only section which was great. The entertainment team was always engaging as well as the staff in general. Food options at the Buffett were plentiful. Make sure you go up the lighthouse during sunset, its the best view. Loved the bowling alley!

Our trip was fantastic. Will definitely be back. Our experience was made even greater due to our butler, Deiby Santana. If you are going, I would highly recommend you request Deiby. Our bartender, Jhon, was wonderful as well. Jhon went above and beyond every day.

Myself and my partner booked this for a week all inclusive 4 days before flying as a last minute deal. We didnt have much choice of hotels left but this one had amazing reviews- and it did not disappoint. When people think of all inclusive, they imagine a buffet meal of the same food on rotation every day, but this hotel is so different. We ate a full plated meal every single night- of differing cuisines and never got bored. The A La Carte restaurants are all included in your stay and you simply book in the morning with a time slot. We paid 80 to upgrade us to the El Beso (adults only) side of the hotel, and we are so pleased we did. It was well worth it in my opinion. A La Carte restaurants we tried: Route 66- American diner food, what you see is what you get, but we had an amazing beef brisket and excellent service. No need to book and just showed up. We had a waiter called Juan and he was amazing, and so friendly. Italian- my least favourite meal just because I think I chose badly but my partner thought his was amazing. Good varied options on the menu. Mexican (Margarita)- my favourite meal of the week. I had fajitas and they were amazing, also recommend the frozen margaritas. Steakhouse- amazing choice of dishes and cooked to perfection. We couldnt believe such decent steak was included in our stay. If we had had longer we wouldve returned. Pez Dama (El Beso buffet)- this is a buffet for breakfast and lunch for only adults then a Caribbean dining experience in the evening. We were skeptical of the menu at first but I think it was my favourite main of the week. Sometimes they serve BBQ on the beach but on the night we went we sat inside. Luisa was our waiter and she was so friendly and accommodating for us. We had a lovely evening and the restaurant was practically empty so service was second to none. I had the peanut chicken this night and it was the best I've ever tasted. It was all authentic Caribbean tastes so it was amazing to try this. Sakura- we had to book this on the day, and admit that whilst it wasnt our favourite meal the experience and the show of them preparing the food in front of you was once in a lifetime and worth its weight in gold. Again all included however we did tip our waiters and chefs due to how engaging it was and amazing. The Pool Bar in the El Beso area has been our frequented area this week, and Javier has made me approximately 1000 cocktails with a smile on his face. Never struggled to get a cabana bed every day after breakfast and theres no sunbed reserving. The beach isnt the best for the Caribbean, but most reviews state the same. They do clean the seaweed up- but it is a rough sea with a strong current. We did go one day but be prepared to be hounded to buy things from outsiders on the beach. The room we had was stunning, it was a Junior Suite (upgraded automatically) and we declined a swim up as we knew how shaded they were. There are other facilities at the hotel I feel need a mention- sports bar for drinks my partner loved, and the Bowling we did play and this was a little treat included in the stay which was different for us and gave us something to do. We also attended the Beach Party and Foam Party- and had fun as a couple in our 20s. We also enjoyed a fresh Coffee from Mikes every day- something Ive never had at other hotels. Overall, I would rate this hotel 11/10- I already want to come back but do admittedly like to try different places. I have nothing negative to say about our stay and we absolutely have loved every minute.
