Great resort!

Stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience! We booked a room with a swim up pool which was amazing, wished the water got a little warmer though. Our room was clean and well maintained, took awhile for ac to get cool. Bed was super comfortable. We were in El Beso, and appreciated the separate check in. The pools on our side were amazing with great pool bar guys. The lazy river was awesome, go for a lap and stop at the bar, go around again and repeat! Only complaint about pool areas is that there are not enough washrooms. Beach is just ok, kind of rocky.
Food was good, Pez Dama was great for breakfast and the buffet always had great choices and service. Ate at Italian and Mexican la carte and it was just ok, I feel like they were trying to be too fancy. Route 66 had good bbq. Mikes coffee needs more people working there, but coffee was always good. We spent a lot of time at the lobby bar before and after dinner, because the service was excellent! Piano bar was a nice touch too. Loved the set up from lobby down through the restaurants. Set up like a city street. Very nice touch!
Overall this resort was beautiful and clean and had lots to offer, we were looking for a quiet and fun experience and got it.
Word of caution dont get talked into the presentation trying to sell you into their membership. Although we were constantly told theyd be happy even if we said no, we had to say no 5 times and get angry with the supervisors to finally get out of it and get on with our day.

Improve the food and internet and you'll have a fine resort

The resort facilities itself were quite nice. We stayed in a "Privilege" suite, which provided access to additional beach areas and another restaurant. The room was very nice.
The main complaints we had were:
- HORRIBLE INTERNET service. It shouldn't really be listed as an amenity since it was incredibly slow (i.e. 2mbps), making zoom calls impossible. I unfortunately had a couple of work calls I couldn't reschedule during our trip, and after losing the connection several times ended up having to revert to using the hotel room phone to dial in. This alone would be a reason I would't go back to the hotel
- FOOD was not great. We've stayed at many resorts over the years (including Riu, etc), and this might have been the worst food we've had. Some dishes were fine, but others were inedible. Japanese teppanyaki was nasty.
- BEACH was nice, but every day the red flag was out because of rough water. They don't have kayaks, etc available, so I'm guessing this is the norm for that part of the coast. The "lagoon" to the left of the official hotel beach was swimmable, but I'm not even sure that belongs to the hotel
- ALL-INCLUSIVE didn't include things like the pool table. At $5/game, we felt we were being ripped off. Bowling alley and lazy river were nice (and free).
That being said, kudos to the staff who were gracious and tried their best to make our stay as nice as possible
