Fantastic Deal & Great Environment for a Relaxing Holiday!

My fiancé and I came for 1 week near the end of May and had a fantastic time! For anyone who wouldnt consider themselves snobby or high maintenance, this is an amazing hotel and such a great deal for everything included!
First of all, most of our days were spent between the pool and buffet. Gustavo at the swim up bar has taken care of us every day and always made sure we had full cups, including giving us samples of drinks we hadnt tried before! All the other bartenders were doing the same for others at the bar as well, so that was perfect for us. During our stay none of the pools were ever too crowded, and as a childless couple I wouldnt say Ive even really noticed or heard many kids around which kept it very relaxing.
As for food, all of our meals have been great. All staff are extremely friendly and quick, and we would say all food (including the buffet) was actually quite impressive considering the affordability of the resort!
Our favorite meals would have to be the pork shank at the Mexican restaurant, and our overall favourite restaurant in general would be Blue Moon.
All the food was phenomenal, and the manager Juan treated us so well both times during our stay, first when we got engaged earlier in the evening, and second for my fiancés birthday! He was definitely one of our favourites from the whole trip. Would also love to shout out Ricardo who served our birthday dinner who was super sweet and very attentive!
The resort as a whole was very clean and decently updated for the most part, and we would definitely come back again for another vacation!
(Maybe not this time again because the Seaweed this time of year was pretty stinky and made the beach unbearable!!)

No beach,No smoking, No adults only area

Weather is fantastic, food is great, drinks are cold. We were in the privilege area.They bring jugs of cold water around for you.our butler Luis was the best, went above and beyond , for my husbands birthday. And a huge shout out to Xavier, Jose and Enrique for the amazing sand art for his birthday.Luis our butler, did up our room, so impressed.. The down sides there is NO useable beach, the try to clean it , but its a losing battle.The smell is just horrible.This resort is basically Non smoking. 2 stops to smoke at thats it fine for non smokers, but smokers should have a few more spots just outside the pool areas.. We booked the privilege adults only area.. Big disappointment, when we arrived this was not longer adults only quite pool Yelling screaming children running around Bring back adults only pool.. There are 2 more pools kids can yell at we will not be back, only because of screaming children and the lack of beach. We wanted quite adult area..

I'll stay there again

We booked two weeks out and got a very reasonable price on a sea view room. Check-in was fast and easy (just had to pay the local tax as mentioned in the fine print).
Breakfast buffet was much better than lunch. We tried the Italian, Route 66, fine dining Blue Moon, and El Bucanero (formerly Villa Marina). El Bucanero, was the absolute best, and we ate there twice! We also liked the fine dining at Blue Moon and went twice. I was disappointed in most of the desserts and icecream, but we frequented the juice bar and Mike's Coffee for sweets. For the best drinks, stick to the lobby bar. Service was mixed, as some waiters were much friendlier than others.
The downside was being constantly approached for the "premium travel club" even after we did the presentationand declined. However, the absolute worst part was a strong seaweed scent blowing through the room's AC, making it smell like rotten fish.
Despite the few cons, the great price point, view, and excellent dinners mean I would stay here again.
Oh, and there's raccoons.

Worthwhile upgrading to Privilege at this busy resort

Great holiday, upgraded to Privilege and loved the breakfast & lunches on the terrace in the Privilege lounge, worth the upgrade cost alone.
Jose at the pool was fantastic, along with Javier, and Claudia was fab as our butler. Enrique and Vitalino were so lovely and looked after us so well.
Not being able to swim in the sea due to seaweed was a bit disappointing but we booked a snorkelling trip with turtles which was great and made up for it. If you dont upgrade be prepared to get up early, around 6am to get a sunbed by the pool!
