Second time back !!

We just got back from OCT last night and what a time. We stayed in room 6207 (building 7) and booked Privilege. We had a privilege garden room which was perfectly located close to everything. The room was very clean, updated, smelled fantastic. Beds were comfortable as well as the pillows. Housekeeping was wonderful and our fridge was always well stocked. Our butler was Elizabeth and she was absolutely fantastic. She booked all of our restaurant reservations and even tried to accommodate our group of 16 as best as possible. The privilege Lounge/restaurant was excellent. Im so glad we upgraded. Food was so good and the service was superb. The Buffet had lots of options but we preferred a more quiet environment so we ate at the privilege restaurant for breakfast every morning. Villa marina, the Mexican restaurant and the privilege restaurant were my favourite. Not a lot of outlets in the room but we made do. There always seemed to be something going on entertainment wise throughout the day and evening. Elizabeth who did entertainment at the privilege pool was so sweet. She works really hard. Jesus was also great and was funny. Got guests participating in different activities. My one suggestion would be to have a bit more music at the privilege pool and to maybe move the live dj to somewhere like the top patio. We love to dance but there was no one really around the live dj area. We thought maybe people didnt realize he was down by the swim up pool area. They do have live music made the lobby but depending on who was there it wasnt always our jam. Maybe moving him on the patio up top would be good ? Lobby bar staff bartenders Marco, Mateo, Frankie and all the lobby staff were wonderful and made delicious drinks. Such gentlemen :) They Made guests feel beautiful and welcome ! Willberth at El beso bistro bar was so kind. Jose and Eduardo the privilege pool attendants were always working so hard around the pool delivering drinks to everyone. Amazing service. It was second time at this resort. We used the hospitality room to shower after check out ,where our shuttle didnt come until 6pm. They were clean and spacious but didnt have hairdryers or outlets for hair tools but aside from That , no real complaints. Yes the sargassum is bad but this is not the resorts fault. They do their best to attempt to clean some of it up, but where there is so much it is impossible to clear it all. Like many resorts, getting up early to reserve a chair by the pool is pretty much the norm. Its not ideal, but where the beach isnt really useable at this time for many , those who prefer the beach, are now at the pool which takes up more loungers. Its Just my suggestion to get up early like everyone else so that youre not scrambling to find a seat or possibly without a seat later the morning. Staff do try to be as accommodating as possible but are limited to a degree. I also found there were several guests that were unkind to the staff. This really frustrated me because they really do work very hard and try their best to satisfy their guests. I love the adults only section and heard they are getting rid of El Beso so this will be interesting, If I am being honest. So hopefully some of these options will remain to cater to some guests. All in all it was a trip Ill never forget ! So many laughs. Thanks OCT!!

GOOD EXCEPT FOR A COUPLE OF HICCUPS

The staff and service at the resort are excellent! It's absolutely spotlessly clean and the food was terrific - there was a variety that catered to every taste. I would say that the food here was better than some cruise lines I've been on. The rooms are enormous. I was particularly impressed with all the vanity amenities and a clothes steamer in the room which is a first I've seen in a resort. My only complaints were the lack of sun loungers. The majority of people were up at 0600-0700 in the morning. I refuse to get up at that time to get a sun lounger but usally lucked out by 1300 in the afternoon. Some of the loungers which had towels had no one occupying them all day. I really think this needs to be monitored somehow. The other complaint is the frustration of trying to get in to the a la cartes. At 1000 every morning I was on the app and only managed to get into two of the restaurants. This is a ridiculous system which Guest Services even admitted to having a glitch so it needs to be fixed. For these two reasons, I wouldn't return to this resort.

Another restful stay.

Another trip did not disappoint. Lots to do for people of all ages! The staff, as always worked so hard to make us comfortable. From Ricardo and Jose getting us set up on the beach to Freddie and Ivan at El Beso. Ydelfonso and Angel were like seeing old friends. Erik and Sandy recognized us and helped us book our dinners as we had traveled with 2 international students and one family joined us from Spain. Special thanks to Erik for ensuring we got our bottle of peanut butter tequila on the last night despite Girasoles being closed. The staff at this resort make the experience each and every time. I am so sad that the adults only section will be gone. As we work all year with kids, our trip to OCT is to recharge our batteries and we lived mainly on the Adult Only side. Not sure if we will be back unless with family. Beware of H10 Premium. Head office does NOT work like the onsite staff. We got ripped off on our free trip due to COVID and our country not allowing travel so we missed the deadline and there was NO exception. Our dealings with head office have never been positive. To them you are a number.

Amazing Staff!!!

We had an incredible stay and the staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. A huge thank you to Teresa at the buffet for her wonderful service and chats every morning. Our favorite!! We also want to recognize Javier and Kevin at Villa Marina and Erika at the pool for their thoughtfulness and many laughs with us. Marisela and Idalia in the lobby at night made us feel welcome and they remembered our order. They all made our vacation unforgettable!
