Relaxing, once you find a chair

If youre expecting Ritz-Carlton this is not that. If youre expecting sunshine, good food, and a few well that was interesting momentswelcome, youre in the right place
Overall: we had a really great week. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the balconies deserve their own fan club. The food was actually very good (rare win for an all-inclusive), the coffee shop was a daily highlight, and the entertainment was fun without making you feel like you were being recruited into a dance troupe. Also worth notingthe staff seemed genuinely happy, which made the whole place feel lighter. And the pool, water park and lazy river were awesome. The beach itself is beautiful, but a little rockyventure off the designated path and you may accidentally discover the surprise obstacle course featuring rocks and seaweed.
Now for the quirks (because every resort has a personality, and this one has a few):
Beach chairs: Think The Hunger Games, but make it tropical. Not enough chairs, not the comfiest, and ours were stolen twicewhich added a fun little guess who stole your chair game to the trip.
Ice cream line: Delicious, but staffed by one very brave individual. By the time you reach the front, youve formed bonds with the people around you and possibly reconsidered your life choices.
Check-in process: Easily the weakest part. We fully understand rooms not being readybut the current strategy seems to be release guests into the wild and see what happens. A plan would help. Even a loose one.
Handling issues: When something went wrong, the response had strong noted energy with no sequel. You kind of just had to admire the consistency.
Towel cards: I have never worked harder to keep track of a towel in my life. At one point it felt like I was responsible for a national asset.
All that saidnone of this ruined the trip. We laughed about most of it, ate really well, drank our coffee, and properly relaxed.
Would I go back? Maybe.
Did we still have a great vacation? Absolutely.
Go in with the right expectations, a sense of humor, and maybe keep an eye on your beach chair.

Great quiet place

I visited this resort March 7th to 14th as a family with 2 kids 7 and 5. We had privilege.
We had a great time during our week stay. I dont think the resort was at capacity.
Our Butler service was great. I was suppose to get Oceanview King with a pull out. I got partial Oceanview/Pool View. I wasnt going to fight with them on that.
For being a new resort the rooms were a bit run down but we just really use the rooms to sleep so wasnt a big deal.
The kids pool area was nice but I dont think there were enough chairs in that area for the families as I saw people looking around the couple days we hung out there. This kids area also had a privilege area and you could easily get chairs in that area which was nice.
The main big pool area. If you are looking for chairs in shade then you need to save them around 6am or they will be all gone. Even in the privilege area you needed to save chairs by 6am in shaded areas or they were all gone. I dont know how many upgrades they sell but there isnt a big Privilege area for everyone. Some chairs were still available around the pool at 11am but those were directly in the sun with no shade what so ever.
We did Privilege at the beach area and it is rocky especially when you go in the water. Bring water shoes I saw the faces of some people that didnt have them and they didnt look happy. Again not enough seats for all the privilege people I saw looking for chairs. I didnt look over at the non privilege so I honestly dont know if there were chairs available there or not. (on another note someone put there stuff down on the spot beside us early in the morning and they didnt show up till about 2pm and then they left 20 to 30 minutes later that isnt right other people could have used that some people are inconsiderate of others)
The entertainment was good I enjoyed it. The food was great even at the buffet. I do recommend the Italian restaurant the food there was awesome.
Overall we had a pleasant stay at this resort with all the negativity I was reading I was trying to change resorts I am glad I stuck it out with them. I would go back in a heart beat.
The resort is beautiful and the right size.
I recommend this place 100%.

Relaxing Week

The Hotel is quite new with beautiful rooms, huge pool and grounds well kept
-Rooms were well cleaned daily and stocked with linens and mini fridge. AC worked well. WIFI strong.
-We prefer to eat at the buffet and check all the food out before filling a plate, it was clean and the food was so varied, hot and abundant! Everyone will find something delicious here! Pasta station was so good. The beach grill, the charcoal grilled chicken was excellent!
-Coffee bar was very good and speedy service as there was always a lineup. Pastries with the coffee were delicious also.
-Selina at the Privilege pool area was, genuinely a super nice person. And gave very good service..
*A few points to management:
-We were uncomfortable with the word Privileged all week, can a new name be implemented?!
-The scent in the main lobby and Privilege lobby, too strong! We steered clear of these 2 areas all week.
-Our room only had 1 small trash can in toilet area, So we were given bags to hang on door knobs in room for the week.
- We were sad we didn't receive our room Robes all week.... I guess a shortage.
-The one light switch controlled hall lights/pot lights and over bed lights.... Not good! should be split up and a dimmer would be awesome for mood and more flattering lighting.
-floor to ceiling curtains no rod or pull system. Very difficult to open and close.

Great Jamaican Experience outside of Ochie & MoBay

This is our second visit and we had another very good stay. Property is beautiful with lots of amenities for all ages. The staff makes the experience and they were kind friendly and responsive. Thanks to: Shawn (bellhop); Shavel (front desk); Orlean (housekeeper) and to manager Ricardo who responded promptly to open my room safe, within minutes before I left for an excursion. Shout out to the extraordinary bartenders and wait staff!! The team at the Jamaican Grill ( Tafari, Helen, Steven) is amazing and the food is so delicious, there is always a line-up. ??
Few areas need improvement: beach is bit rocky. Sustainable resort so some processes are slow such as linen delay, but always corrected. No place is perfect. We highly recommend and are planning another trip!
